This is a beautiful cup!
Thank you!
Did you buy like that or did you painted it
I painted it with flat white spray paint.
Very good video and technique.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful cup! You make it look so easy. Did you epoxy the top and bottom of the Tumblr?
No, I taped the top and bottom off.
I’m going to paint my drumset
Fun!
Did you taped the edges when you sprayed the sealer?
yes
Is it ok to just use rustoleum 2x ultra flat white primer as my base color? I couldn’t find rustoleums 2x paint +primer in white. I will be adding glitter over it.
for sure!
If there’s scratch in tumblers how to fix???
lightly sand all over, wash well with Dawn, re-epoxy
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!!
Very nice video ty I'm going to try this on some wine glasses bin purple , gray and black
Have fun!
I’m in love. I’m actually trying to do this tonight. I just put the glitter on. But I’m not really sure how long it takes for it to dry before I can epoxy it. Is it a few hours or the next day? Thank you in advance
It really depends on how thick it is applied and the humidity in your area. I usually wait overnight.
When you do a second coat it’s the exact same process as the first, meaning you start with modpog?
Yes!
@@VioletDoodlesBoutique thanks
With htv do you have to reverse it? Or was that just a preference?
You have to reverse it because the adhesive is on the side facing up.
What if I epoxies twice?
Same process, you'll just be sanding off more.
Genius! Thank you!
You are welcome!
Hello there! This video is very helpfull and detailed! Will try this for the first time. I just have two questions, pleasee🙏🏼 do you buy plain stainless steel tumblers and then paint them white? What kind of paint do you use?? Also how long do I let them dry after the second coat?? Thanks you🙏🏼
I buy plain ones. This was painted with flat white spray paint. I usually let it dry overnight and then epoxy.
Hi..why is a second coat of epoxy necessary?
I tend to do pretty thin coats. A second was required because I could still feel the glitter.
Fabulous I just started doing glitter glasses! Thanks for the tutorial now I wanna do a tumbler!!
Have fun!
Hello Miss Kiss Kreation!! How do you use Marabu on a glittered & sealed tumbler? I'm not getting the same results as flat painted tumblers!
My glittered one was epoxied until smooth and then dipped.
Did you seal IT? Before epoxy
You can but it is not necessary.
Did you spray with a sealer before applying the epoxy? I’m scared of my glitter moving when applying epoxy!
I usually do if it is a design like this. Just spray with clear and you will be good to go.
Love the colors 🤩
Thank you!
Thanks for that video , Now I can try to salvage my tumbler!
Good luck!
Thank you for this video you just motivated me more to try this I was unsure about trying but now I want to
You should!
I'm just curious but why do you go over it twice? And once the 1st layer seals after an hr...does going over it again with the modge podge peel away at all anything(glue or glitter) from the 1st layer?
Adding a second layer deepens the color and blends the ombre even more. I dry brush a little to knock off any extra glitter. But no, the second coat doesn't mess up the first as long as it is dry.
How did you base coat the mug?? I'm pretty sure you've already answered this question, but there are a lot of questions and responses 🤔. Can this technique be used on acrylic, double walled tumblers??
It is flat white spray paint. You can do it on other surfaces as well.
So pretty 🤩
Thank you!!
Your butterfly is beautiful
Thanks!
first one was the best
Thank you!
Do you sand just that area or do you only sand what you need off?
I sanded the spot smooth and a light sanding all over.
I’m not a leopard girl but this cup is pretty.
Thanks!
So very helpful! I didn't even know this was possible to salvage 😱.
Glad I could help!
This video saved my life!!! Thank you so much, I was devastated that I applied the wrong vinyl on a tumbler, you saved me so much time & heart ache thank you!!!
Glad I could help!
Thank you you save my bun lol. I just finish putting the first layer of epoxy when I noticed the next morning my vinyl had bubbled up. It’s quite heart breaking but thanks for your tip. Will try this out and hopefully I can do as good as a job like yours. God bless u
Glad I could help!
Do you ever get micro bubbles after the dip? I am getting a lot of micro bubbles.
No more than normal.
If you gently rub the surface of the tumbler with a dryer sheet before you apply glitter, it will help relieve the static.
Good idea
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Wowowow!! How gorgeous! I love, love, love the cup! Where may I ask did you find your butterfly? He's perfect for this technique. Thank you!
Thank you! It's from Etsy. There are tons. Search "butterfly svg."
@@VioletDoodlesBoutique oh, yes there are tons! That's where I went first. I didn't see any that had the simple dots around the wings. Let's just say you landed on the best one. Thank you for taking time to reply.🥰
I absolutely love the way you did the Tumblr in this tutorial it showed me the easiest way for me to do that and I really appreciate you sharing with me and everyone else thank you and have a wonderful day
I'm so glad! You're very welcome!
What's the type of tumbler your using?
Those are from The Stainless Depot Company
Are there any necessary steps that need to be taken before dipping the tumbler? I’ve watched a few videos on how to make this marble effect and they have all said they had to sand the tumbler then spray paint it. On your video is seems as if you just purchased them and dipped them?!
I explained what I did with each of these in the video. They were all prepped and then designed differently for the tutorial. The pink one was prepped, sprayed white, glittered, epoxied, dipped... The Light blue was prepped, painted white, dipped... The darker one was prepped, painted black, dipped... Here is how I prep: ua-cam.com/video/LAjpoMDMIUA/v-deo.html
I'm struggling with the bit of epoxy that covers the edges and onto the bare steel pulling away. I see you don't prep that part at all! Maybe I've left too much space between the design and where I tape off? Every time I add another layer of epoxy, I leave another tiny gab, but then it does end up being like a bit wider. I hope you can help! It's so tough to find information on this.
It will move a bit after you pull the tape. If you want a thinner line, you can try waiting a bit longer until you take the tape off.
How did you do your blue swirl?
ua-cam.com/video/mnbGPsC3XQY/v-deo.html It's the same process as the pink one in this video. I started with a white glitter, epoxy, then dipped in several blues and clear.
Hello. Did you seal each color before moving on to the next? I’m wondering how the colors did not mix. Beautiful tumbler.
No, just dry brush after its dry and before doing the next one.
@@VioletDoodlesBoutique 🥰
How long do you let it dry before adding another layer of glitter
30 mins to overnight
Yes people you can use Crystalac instead of epoxy. Use glitter glue instead of mod podge because mod podge doesn't dry well.
Everyone has a preference.
Can I just let the spray paint dry for like 30min before applying the mod podge? Thank you!
If the conditions are right, you can. I wait just long enough for it to be dry but I am usually working in stages and it ends up being over night.
I am going to try these. Did not realize I had to prep the tumblers. I purchased from Amazon a brand called Domicare Double wall stainless steel, do you think this tumbler will work, it has a white powerboat on it. Should I still sand the white part.?
I would still sand it to rough it up a bit.
Do you have an intro video on how to actually add glitter to a cup after it's prepped?
Sure! ua-cam.com/video/ybKL1LwCLgM/v-deo.html
I dipped over a silver glitter, after applying my polycyclic it has like a fog over it! Do u know why? Did I do something wrong
Oh no! Did you shake it? Sometimes it can get microbubbles from shaking the Polycrylic. Always be sure to stir, not shake.
